Karavados is one of the most beautiful villages of Kefalonia, it is 11 km south of Argostoli and has about 430 residents.

The houses are trimmed with large courtyards full of flowers and landscaped gardens. The Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, located in the center of the village is clearly influenced by Venetian architecture and inside there is a marble temple, unique in Kefalonia, a priceless heirloom.

The people of the past were mainly sailors and fishermen and for this reason, that’s why in the entrance of the village there is a big iron anchor which is dedicated to Karavadow seamen who lost their lives at sea.

Very close to the village, on a scenic route through the green and ideal for walking, is the St. Thomas beach with gray-green turquoise waters, which is shared by two sandy beaches, and on the edge, there is a large stone slab from which the swimmer can swim, dive, or just enjoy the sun. At the top right of the beach is a wonderful cafe where visitors can sit after their swim and cool off with coffee, refreshments, snacks, and light food.

A short distance from the village and driving to the Venetian street you can visit the beaches of Trapezaki and Lourdas.
