Valeriano is located in the southeastern part of Kefalonia at an altitude of 170 meters by 150 residents. It borders the square and Atsoupades villages and its distance from Argostoli is about 20km.
It is a plain village, situated on the main road that connects Argostoli to the south of Kefalonia.
In the village we will find just a few accommodations and also the distinctive blue church of Saints Peter and Paul.
The great navigator John Apostolos Fokas (Juan de Fuka), was born in Valeriano in 1536. He explored the west coast of America under the orders of the Spanish court. In the 18th century, the strait that connects Vancouver with the United States of America was named after him.
